I am Rebecca Mary Monteith Bishop, a British (Scottish), aged 31 years old, born in Germany in 1973 (British Military Hospital Rinteln), and with the majority of my family and ancesters coming from Trian House nestled up in the Glens near Comrie in Scotland. In fact I am a proud descendent of the Clan Graham of Menteith. Menteith or Monteith translates to seemingly mean 'mountain /moorland /grassland/ hill'! My main upbringing was in St.Andrews, Fife, where I did my secondary education at St.Leonards School. In between times and thereafter, I have been visiting the French Alpes to pursue both competitive skiing and cycling career. I therefore have a great love and respect for the outdoors, specially mountain people (Scottish or French-Savoyard) and the 'simplistic' way of living. My passions are: sport, specially cycle racing and triathlon; mountain security and safety issues; information technology, graphic design, writing articles, helping others, studying, travelling, speaking languages, a big jazz fan, visiting art galleries.....and much more! What sport has done for meI have competed in many sports over the years to a high level. I am a self coached athlete too. This has taught (and is still teaching me) to 'be aware' of my training, racing, the world around me. It has certainly developed my time management skills! Most of all it has helped me become self driven, self honest and highly motivated. I have always been 'creative' with my training: believed in it and then executed it, then analysed it after and learnt from my mistakes over and over again. I believe this has made me who I am today as an athlete and as a person. My major results summary
Why create Easycycling?I created Easycycling because I want to help cyclists. It gives me tremendous satisifaction to know that someone out there maybe inspired by me to start a fitness programme, or perhaps simply to get into racing for the first time. Please contact me if you would like a question answering on any training/racing issue. I know how tough cycling can be. I also know what it takes to be good at cycling, the commitment involved and the pitfalls to avoid! My goal then is to volentarily help you get more out of sport - to find happiness in sport and most of all to keep good health. My current professional statusI am certified as a web and e-commerce designer through CIW (Certified Internet Webmaster), one of the rare professional qualifications in the world for web design and development: endorsed by the International Webmasters Association (IWA). It is also endorsed and supported by the National Workforce Center for Emerging Technologies (NWCET). I am also continuing to develop my skills as a graphic artist and writer. My long term aim is to set up a web design business here in Europe, serving the sport, tourist and leisure industry worldwide. End of article... |home|
